Spring Charms Have Sprung

With winter nearly behind us and spring on its way here, let’s take a moment to celebrate the many reasons March is a special, dare I say, charming, month.

Spring Renewal and Inspiration

Extended hours of light infuse our days with renewed energy and endless possibilities. The sun  alchemizes bare branches until they glow with the signature chartreuse of new buds. Warmth cajoles daffodils and tulips from their frosty winter slumber and soon forsythia will electrify the landscape with its brilliant yellow blooms. Nature’s annual rebirth and enduring beauty is a reminder to us of the need for renewal and inspiration in our own lives. It’s a time to shed the old and embrace the new, to sow the seeds of growth and radiate with gratitude.

The Legend of St. Patrick’s Day

As March becomes increasingly verdant, no day is greener than March 17th: St. Patrick’s Day! Everyone is Irish on St. Patrick’s Day because no one can resist the infectious spirit and jovial camaraderie of this iconic cultural celebration. The shamrock is the leading symbol of St. Patrick’s Day. As legend has it, St. Patrick used the shamrock to teach pagans about the holy trinity and convert them to Christianity. The four-leafed clover, on the other hand, is a leading symbol of luck because of its rarity. Odds of finding one the first time are rare. Only about 1 in 10,000 plants grows four leaflets. Each of the leaves represent hope, faith, love and luck. “May the luck of the Irish enfold you!”

March Madness

For sports enthusiasts and basketball aficionados alike, the NCAA March Madness reigns supreme. College teams vie for bracket-busting upsets, and whether you’re a die-hard fan or a casual observer, there’s no denying the allure of one of the biggest annual sporting events in the US. An average of 10
million viewers tuned in for the 2023 tournament—that’s a lot of eager fans and yet another reason the month of March is cause for celebration.

March Birthdays & Anniversaries

Aquamarine is the birthstone of March. This pale blue to light-green gemstone was used by ancient Greek and Roman sailors as protection at sea. They also used aquamarine to protect against illness. Aquamarine is said to be a powerfully soothing influence on relationships, ensuring long and happy marriages. Hence, why it considered the perfect gift to celebrate the 19th wedding anniversary. If
March holds birthdays or anniversaries for you or the loved ones in your life, seize opportunities to create cherished memories. Whether you’re blowing out candles, raising a toast, or simply sharing laughter and good cheer, these moments of celebration serve as reminders of the joy found in the company of those we hold most dear.

Spring Cleaning

Spring signifies new beginnings, and what better way to start afresh than to do some cleaning and decluttering. Organizing closets, starting a home improvement project or donating unwanted items tocharities—no matter the task, nothing makes us feel renewed more than an update to our living space.
Once the old clothes and accessories are passed down or on, it’s time to acquire some delightful new items that magically lift our mood and look.

In her poem, “Dear March—Come in,” Emily Dickinson eagerly welcomes March back into her home after a long hiatus. Dickinson has “much to tell” her long-lost friend, and we are no different. We have missed you, March! We are grateful for your return!
